When it comes to supporting users in gaining the highest benefit from
their hearing implants in the shortest space of time following implantation,
MED-EL perfectly understands the needs of hearing implant users, parents
of implanted children and professionals in clinics worldwide. The
unique “BRIDGE to better communication” program
consists of numerous materials for use at home or in a professional
setting relating to education, assessment and training. This program includes
games for children to help them learn to hear and understand through play. These
materials have proven to be highly efficient in (re)habilitation and
have been translated into many languages.
Bilateral Implantation
As a pioneer in bilateral implantation, MED-EL has 12 years of experience in evaluating the clinical benefits of using a hearing implant in both ears. Since then, thousands of children and adults have benefited from the advantages of “stereo hearing”, being able to localize the direction of sounds and an improved ability to focus on individual speakers in group situations. Another First, MED-EL has succeeded in developing the only remote control unit, the FineTuner™, that permits both speech processors to be adjusted independently and very comfortably with one remote control unit.
