This webinar is hosted by Professor Manohar Bance, Professor Simon Lloyd and Mr Philip J Robinson and will explore the role of genetics in hearing loss. This expanding field is an area of rapid development and is likely to have significant ramifications for the assessment and treatment of hearing loss in the future. The event is organised by the RSM Section of Otology and the British Society of Otology.

An expert panel will present updates on the latest development in the field of genetic testing for hearing loss, including ethical considerations, counselling, and practical aspects of genetic testing.

Each session includes the opportunity for participants to ask questions to the experts.

Aims for this event include:

  • Provide a contemporary update on the field of genetic testing in hearing loss
  • Discuss ethics and counselling issues surrounding this field
  • Review the integration of genetic testing in clinical practice
  • Provide a practical approach to the genetics of hearing loss for clinicians
